As I was walking in Ho'omaluia Botanical Garden in Kaneohe, this beautiful red flower called out to me for it's portrait to be painted. At first I thought I was painting some variety of torch ginger then when I got to the leaves I realized it was a bromeliad. I love how painting teaches me to observe.
